How to Configure Idea Net Setter in NEKTech-Linux V1.0

Configuring Idea Net Setter

# The following steps should be followed while configuring the net setter.

1. Connect the Idea Net Setter into your computer system.
2. Open Terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T)
3. Type the following command :
a. lsusb
and identify idVendor and idProduct

e.g. Bus 003 Device 002: ID 12d1:1446 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. E1552/E1800 (HSPA modem)

idVendor=12d1
idProduct=1446

b. sudo su
( Becoming root user )

4. Open the vi editor and type the following:
a. vi /usr/bin/usbModemScript

b. #!/bin/bash
echo 12d1 1446 > /sys/bus/usb-serial/drivers/option1/new_id

5. Save the file and exit:
a. go to command mode and
b. type :wq and enter

6. Change the mode of file and to make file executable:
chmod +x /usr/bin/usbModemScript

7. open the another editor and type the following:
a. vi /etc/udev/rules.d/option.rules
b. ATTRS{idVendor}=="12d1",
ATTRS{idProduct}=="1446",
RUN+="/usr/bin/usbModemScript"

ATTRS{idVendor}=="12d1",
ATTRS{idProduct}=="1446",
RUN+="/sbin/modprobeoption"

c. save file and exit:
go to command mode and type :wq and enter

8. Type following command for restart:
reboot

# when you connect the net setter then you must restart your system.
